For years one of the most prominent family law attorneys in the state, Victor recently joined Hertz Schram, becoming Of Counsel with the firm that has offices in Bloomfield Hills and Detroit.

Current AAML Michigan representative to the Board of Governors and Michigan AAML chapter President Ric Roane, Grand Rapids; national AAML President Ken Altshuler, Maine; and Richard S. Victor, former President of the Michigan chapter of the AAML as well as a former member of the national Board of Governors of the Academy. in 2006, Richard S. Victor was named the national “Fellow of the Year” by the Academy. He is the only attorney from the state of Michigan ever to be selected as the national Fellow of the Year.

The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) presented its annual seminar on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. On Friday, Sept 19, the International Kids Alliance Network (IKAN) along with attorney Richard S. Victor of Richard S. Victor, PLLC and the Victor Smile Foundation hosted the second in a series of nationwide children’s book charity events at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills to launch the book “You and Me Make Three,” which is based on the national parent education SMILE program, started in Oakland Country in 1989. During the event, the book’s publisher, Edna Cucksy (center) of Edco Publishing Co., presented the 2008 Hermes Creative Award to (left to right) illustrator Heather Drescher and co-authors Richard S. Victor, Wendy Lokken, and Gwendy Mangiamele. The book deals with the challenges of divorce and separation. Proceeds from the launch event will benefit Oakland Schools, the Oakland Schools Education Foundation, and CARE House.

Matrimonial law has become a family affair for the father-and-son legal team of Richard and Daniel Victor. The duo, pictured in their Long Lake Road office, is backed by legal assistant Kathleen Germaine, a member of the firm for the past 18 years.

Victor was launched with a major book signing and charity benefit raising money for the Collier County teachers fund of Florida and the Collier County Education Foundation.

Richard S. Victor was asked to speak to the graduating class at Michigan State University College of Law’s commencement when he was given the law schools National Alumni of The Year Award in 2000.
